Image to SVG

Trace a bitmap into real scalable vector paths, or embed it losslessly inside an SVG container.

How it works

  • Trace follows the shapes in the picture and rebuilds them as SVG colour paths — ideal for logos, icons, clip-art and flat illustrations. Pick 2–64 colours; fewer colours give cleaner, smaller vectors.
  • Embed wraps the untouched bitmap in an SVG <image> element. The file is a valid .svg that scales without loss, but the pixels are still a bitmap inside.
  • Photographs do not vectorise well: tracing them produces a large file with little benefit. Tracing works best on images with flat colours and clear edges.
  • Rendering and tracing run locally with ImageTracer.js — your picture never leaves the browser.
