How it works

  • Two ways in: give a public URL and the page metadata is fetched for you, or paste the page HTML and everything is parsed locally.
  • When you paste HTML nothing leaves your browser. For a URL, only that address is sent to the free public metadata API.
  • Missing tags are called out — a blank og:image is the most common reason a link previews badly.
