How it works
- Each page is rendered to a high-resolution image and read by Tesseract.js (the same OCR engine used by many desktop tools) — entirely in your browser.
- The page render scale controls accuracy vs speed: 2× is a good default, 3× is better for small print but noticeably slower.
- Language data (~10 MB) is downloaded once from the Tesseract CDN and then cached by the browser.
- OCR is never perfect: handwriting, unusual fonts, skew and low-resolution scans reduce accuracy. Check the result before relying on it.
