How it works
- Automatic tries the least destructive fix first: rebuild the PDF structure and re-save it. Text stays selectable.
- If the pages cannot be parsed, the file is re-rendered page by page into a brand-new PDF (images instead of text) so at least the content is readable.
- A repair fixes the file, not the content: missing pages or images that were never written to disk cannot be recovered.
- Always keep the original file — the repaired copy is written alongside it as a new download.
