Video to GIF

Pick a clip from a video and export it as a looping GIF, with your own frame rate and size.

How it works

  • Load a video the browser can play (MP4/H.264, WebM, and MOV on Safari), set the start time and how many seconds to capture, then create the GIF.
  • Frames are grabbed from the video at your chosen frame rate and encoded with gif.js. 10–15 fps and a width of 320–480 px keeps the file a sensible size.
  • Very long clips produce very large GIFs — keep the duration short (a few seconds) for a shareable result.
  • The video is read locally using the browser’s own decoder; nothing is uploaded.
